With our FeedYardley food initiative drawing to a close, we wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who donated food or money to our campaign.

We were inspired by FeedBirmingham to start our own food re-distribution programme in September 2020. Utilising the kind offer of donation points at South Yardley Library and Marshall’s Coffee Shop we were able to take in non-perishable food from local residents who wanted to help their fellow neighbours. Most of this food was then re-allocated to 7 local foodbanks, enabling these fantastic organisations to continue to meet local need.

Amazingly, we collected and re-allocated over 2.5 tonnes of food!

Foodbanks still need your support and you can contact your local foodbank directly to make a food donation. Or donate when you purchase your own food for the week, most big supermarkets have a foodbank donation point.
