The aim of Hay Mills Art Trail project is to bring the community together and make our living space more welcoming through the creation of public artworks co-designed by residents and business in Tysley and Hay Mills Ward. Beginning in September 2019 with a series of street parties hosted by local residents, ideas were explored on how to make our living space more welcoming.

Look out for wooden planters (yet to be installed) and 10 rainbow metal planters, co-designed by residents and businesses in Tysley and Hay Mills Ward. With help from volunteers, local art group Khawateen Creative Minds restored and transformed the metal planters with geometric designs. Thank you Fran from Acocks Green in Bloom for advising us on plants that were funded by The Active Wellbeing Society. They are ablaze with colour that uplifts our high street with a touch of nature.

Have you seen our latest art installation, Soldier at St Cyprian’s Memorial Hall – A Reflective Piece For 2021? This final piece with its poppies, background artwork and the wooden soldier has been a collaboration of local artists, craftspeople and residents. It’s a poignant reminder and tribute to the sacrifices made during the World War’s and the dedication of all those who served.
